Britney Spears Dyed Her Hair Purple Because ‘I’m Bored, OK?’ — See Her Instagram Video

We have all been there at least once in our lives: so bored that the only way you can cure it is with a fresh (and maybe drastic) new haircut or color. As it turns out, not even celebrities are immune to making brash hair decisions in a state of malaise, as proven by Britney Spears‘s new look. The pop icon shared a video to Instagram on January 21 revealing that her perpetually blonde hair is now a smoky shade of lavender purple.

“Here’s me with purple hair… I’m bored, ok ???” she captioned the Reel. “Very bored so my nail girl said do it !!!! Girl .. I did it but not sure I like it but hey … Here’s me in a 100 dollar mini dress with my boots.”

Whoever is doing Brit’s manicures these days, I have to thank because it’s filling me with pure glee to watch the singer play around with her image in an entirely new way (not something we’ve gotten to witness in recent years for… obvious reasons). Clearly, the rest of Spears’s fans are into it, too: the video has earned almost 8 million views at the time this story was published, and its comment section is rife with purple heart emojis.
