The Simple Primer Trick Jennifer Connelly’s Makeup Artist Used for Tonight’s Emmy Awards

Oozing sophistication in a black-and-white Louis Vuitton ensemble, Jennifer Connelly was the epitome of chic at tonight’s Emmys.

While the theme of elegance was in full effect, makeup artist Fiona Stiles shares that the goal was to keep the glam “fresh and healthy-looking” with a focus on bronzed skin and warm, neutral eyes and lips.

After she prepped the face with Clarins skin care, Stiles layered the brand’s SOS Primer on Connelly’s cheekbones for a little extra glow, and followed up with foundation application via a damp sponge.

“I didn’t want any obvious shimmer, just a beautiful lit-from-within feeling and the feeling of fresh skin.”

While Connelly is known for her brows, the star’s sun-kissed glow was on display for the night, and Stiles’ secret was courtesy of a little bronzer-blush combo.

“I love to use bronzer and blush paired together,” she says. “I used the deepest shade in the Sunkissed Bronzing Powder palette under her cheekbones, but then popped a little of the Cheeky Coral blush on the cheeks to give the face a hint of color. I always love combining blush, bronzer and highlighter for a very dimensional cheek.”
