In April 2020, Taraji P. Henson revealed that she was teaching herself how to sculpt and shape acrylic nails while sequestered at home. When she first shared her work on Instagram stories, we were already impressed by her amateur work. Now, two years later, she’s basically a full-blown nail artist, if her latest DIY manicure is any indication. On Instagram Stories, she shared a few videos of the long, stiletto-shaped manicure full of color, glitter, and 3D gems that she created.
These multicolored nails are truly works of art. Henson gave us a view of both the left and right hands, which don’t have the same designs. On the left hand, each digit is slightly different, but each is full of iridescent flecks of glitter and decorated with a large gem. Not one gem, however, is the same size, color, or shape. Henson swirled blue polish, purple polish, and glitter on the thumbnail in a design that remind us of galaxy nails. The middle and ring finger were also painted with a blue hue and smothered in silver glitter. For the index and pinky nails, Henson mixed a transparent color and holographic pieces of glitter.
