South Korean AI digital health firm Exosystems snaps up $4M in Series A funding
AI-enabled digital health solutions maker Exosystems has raised $3.9 million in a Series A funding round participated by SBI Investment, Laguna Investment, and Korea Technology Finance Corporation.
Based on a press statement, the South Korea-based company will use its fresh funds to expand its clinical and technical capabilities to further develop its technology and overseas business.
It offers a remote monitoring solution for patients with musculoskeletal disorders which consists of a wearable medical device and a connected user app. The device analyses biomarkers related to musculoskeletal disorders; a digital treatment software then recommends an exercise programme or electrical stimulation therapy to users.
“Exosystems will be able to secure competitiveness in the overseas markets because of its unique technology that analyses digital biomarkers and provides behavioural intervention protocol based on scientific evidence,” said Exosystems CEO Lee Hoo-man.
Exosystems’ product has been approved by the Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) and the CE-Medical Devices Directive in Europe. It is also covered by the public health insurance of the MFDS.
Visionflex’s telehealth platform comes to MediRecords’ EHR, practice management systems
Australian health IT providers Visionflex and MediRecords have partnered to combine their technology offerings.
According to a press statement, the companies are working to integrate Visionflex’s video conferencing platform Vision with MediRecords’ cloud-based EHR and practice management systems.
Their aim is to form a video-conference telehealth system “designed for collaborative, multidisciplinary and evidence-based decision making”.
The integration, it was said, will allow doctors to examine patients remotely via video telehealth using blood pressure and blood sugar monitor, stethoscope, pulse oximeter, ECG, thermometer and weight scales. The collected health data during examinations will be automatically saved to patient files on MediRecords.
The Vision platform also enables physicians to accommodate multiple video participants and simultaneously examine them.
UNO Tech launches COVID-19 telehealth app
Singaporean medical technology firm UNO Technologies has introduced a mobile app that assists users in getting doctor teleconsultations on COVID-19.
Users can search for an available GP clinic on the UNO Docket app.
UNO Tech’s parent firm Essex Bio-Technology has committed SG$250,000 in funding to sponsor all qualifying first consults on the telemedicine app, which is presently available on the iOS App Store and will soon come to Android devices.
Eligible app users are those who are not covered by the government’s Home Recovery Programme and those who are not under isolation order.
UNO Tech is encouraging doctors to join its initiative and volunteer through the app; currently, over 20 doctors have come onboard providing online consultations to patients.
