Making the decision to not read any details on the notes of this fragrance before smelling it, I wanted to give myself the opportunity to have a pure first impression — no premeditated opinions. As I pressed down on the transparent, peach-colored bottle’s pump, I smelled the fresh and musky notes, which quickly transitioned into a warm floral.
I was pleasantly surprised by Missing Person’s ability to pluck things out of my memory bank like magic, yet the scent was curiously subtle overall. So much so that I gave my skin a few more generous spritzes before jotting down the emotions that came flooding in. Before I knew it, I felt like I was hugging my mom in the pickup line after a long day at school because the fragrance shares the same comforting scents as the body lotion and cashmere fragrance mentioned above.

Sarah Kinonen/AllureSarah Kinonen, Allure‘s associate beauty director, wasn’t overcome by emotion when the fragrance first hit her nose — but she was pleasantly surprised by its layering ability and transformative aroma. “I tend to be drawn to warm, musk scents, so I wasn’t surprised that I was intrigued by Missing Person,” she says. While the fragrance is subtle (really subtle if you let it live on its own), Kinonen believes it’s really special because of that. “It gets to just be the scent — a scent transformed on your skin,” she notes. But because she does prefer a stronger fragrance that lingers, she decided to layer it with a bold floral. “The combination was pleasantly warm and welcoming,” she concludes.
