From her head to her toes, Travis Barker’s punk aesthetic has rubbed off on Kourtney Kardashian. Apparently, that has now extended to her nails. The nail artist behind Kardashian’s latest manicure, Kim Truong, shared a look at the reality star’s emo-inspired nail art via her Instagram grid on March 16.
Even though the manicure has some traces of the emo color scheme (well, black), Kardashian’s new nail set primarily stays loyal to the neutral manicure color story. As revealed in Truong’s Instagram caption, Creme, an off-white polish from The Gel Bottle, was used as the base color for each nail. The expertly painted fine line down the middle of each nail is where Barker’s influence comes into play. A shade of black — specifically, The Gel Bottle’s Black 3D — was the polish behind each line. Truong explained that she reached for a “fine liner brush” to design each line.
Barker’s emo style may have a chokehold on Kardashian these days, but it wouldn’t be too far-fetched to say that Kim Kardashian’s recent propensity for neutral manicures may have served as inspiration for Kourt’s latest nail set, too. Back on February 1, Kim was wearing a similar cream-colored polish when she slyly shared on her Instagram stories that she’s also a short nail convert. At the very least, Kim’s polish from that one February day could have possibly prompted her sister to go with one that comes pretty close to it.

Whether you like to keep things neutral or are firmly emo through and through, Kardashian’s latest manicure proves that these two completely different color stories go hand in hand. Or in this case, nail by nail.
