Like most people I know, I’m a sucker for convenience. Juggling a full-time job, a live-in relationship, frequent travel, and keeping up with friends and family doesn’t really leave me with a lot of time to kill. I wish I had an extra 30 minutes a night to soak in a bathtub or massage my skin with 10 different perfectly-layered products—but I simply don’t. And I don’t know many people who do.

That said, I’m always on the hunt for something that makes life easier. Think: timed coffee makers, robot vacuums, and Crockpots. As in, shortcuts that give you a few minutes back in your day by allowing you to set-it-and-forget-it. Same goes for beauty products. Anything that combines extraneous steps—like SPF-infused makeup or lash-growth eyeliner—has won my lazy heart. Now, I’m adding Mutha Extreme Cream ($150) to this list, all thanks to its skin-loving super powers that work hard while you sleep—a busy gal’s dream.

Mutha, Extreme Cream — $150.00

The “muthaload” of circadian-supporting botanicals in this cream work together to rejuvenate skin overnight. So the minute you wake up, you’re smoother, softer, and stronger against free radicals.

Surely you’ve seen Mutha’s futuristic purple packaging on your Instagram or TikTok feed by now. Founded by esthetician-slash-model Hope Smith, the DTC skincare line has won high praise for its plant-based power that’s safe for everyone to use—even while pregnant. What started with a body butter literally whipped up in Smith’s personal kitchen has expanded in to a fully branded line of seriously nourishing beauty products that have earned high-praise from all around.

Now I join the ranks of Mutha lovers. As soon as I opened my jar of Extreme Cream, I knew I was going to be impressed—this stuff is decadent, a lush blend that physically looks healing, if that makes sense. It’s so heavy and hydrating, I could tell a drop was going to leave my skin in nirvana.

Hydration aside, it’s the convenience factor that’s swept me off my feet. Like I mentioned, I’m all about simplicity. I don’t want a 10-step beauty routine that entails playing bathroom chemist before I go to bed. I want to wash my face, put on my cream, and wake up with baby-soft skin—is that too much to ask?!

Not for Mutha Extreme Cream. It’s blended with a muthaload of skin-boosting botanicals that work with your body’s circadian rhythm to restore and repair the dermis overnight. During the day, environmental stressors and free radicals can damage the skin and disrupt its normal healing process. This “circadian dermablend” the brand has coined stimulates the skin’s repair process while you sleep, leaving you smoother, softer, and more protected the minute you wake up. That’s the stuff of dreams.

This isn’t the only badass botanical working its magic mid-snooze. Mutha Extreme Cream is also formulated with bakuchiol, a plant-based retinol that triggers collagen production to smooth and soften fine lines, bioplasma, to stimulate skin cell growth and repair, and aloe juice, for long-lasting hydration long after you slip into dreamland. I’ve used my Extreme Cream for a little over two weeks now and I can tell my skin is plumper and livelier when I wake up. And I don’t have to spend hours on my skin-care routine every night. Worth every penny.
