Mavala Tinted Lip Balms Review

0

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I know I’ve featured these lip balms before – I’d forgotten about the review until I actually saw them but very happy to give them a re-run. I think with the surge in popularity of tinted balms these could do with a bit of a revamp in terms of pigment level. They’re quite shy on colour but if you like a barely there tint – and plenty do, including me – then they’re £7.95 very well spent.

One of the key points about the Mavala Tinted Lip Balms is that they’re balm first and tint second – you get all the balmy nourishment from the curiously named Paterson’s Curse plant (Echium plantagineum for the gardeners among us) which is rich in Omega 3s. It’s not an ingredient I’ve come across before but I like the fact that it’s a bit different. There’s also shea butter, sunflower and aloe and it has an SPF of 15. You can even use it on kids (3 and over) which might be where the scents come in handy.

You can pick from Vanilla (clear), Berry, Candy or Peach and they actually smell quite pleasant – I thought I’d hate Candy but it turns out to be my favourite. If you’re thinking along the Percy Pig x Dr PawPaw lines, the Mavala balms couldn’t be further from that! They’re far more subtle than that, but I’m not sure we’d say sophisticate, exactly. You can find them HERE for £7.95 although John Lewis has them on offer (but postage is more). In the swatch above from bottom to top, it’s Candy, Berry and Peach.
