The series takes place thousands of years before the events which transpired in The Hobbit and The Lord Of The Rings series of films.

It will begin during a time of relative peace as it will cover all the major events of Middle-earth’s Second Age including  Rings of Power, the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron, the fall of the island kingdom of Númenor, and the last alliance between Elves and Men.

The events – which are based on author Tolkien’s history of Middle-earth – take place over thousands of years in the legendary writer’s original stories but will be condensed for the series.
