Earlier this year the chef added: “It’s hard work because I’m a big bloke so I’ve really got to watch what I eat and drink, and make sure I exercise regularly.”

According to Onaverage, the average weight of an adult man in the UK is 13st 3Ib (83.9 kilos). However a healthy weight depends on the height of the individual person.

Bupa states that the most common way of measuring if you’re a healthy weight for your height is to calculate your body mass index (BMI).

BMI is used to estimate if you’re a healthy weight for your height and is classified as follows:

Less than 18.5 = underweight
18.5–24.9 = healthy weight
25–29.9 = overweight
30– 39.9 = obese
Over 40 = morbidly obese
