Idina Menzel Says This Eye Cream Makes Her Skin Look 5 Years Younger

In a recent interview with Glamour, Cinderella actress Idina Menzel gets honest about turning 50. “I am ashamed to say it, but I was having a hard time with it,” she says of her recent milestone birthday. “I think it was subconsciously bothering me more than I led on, in regards to my relevance as a performer and actress. I’m feeling like the old lady sometimes, and that’s not who I am. I feel very young at heart.”

Later in the interview, the star explains that it’s crucial to be proud of who you are and what you look like. “Being unique is what sets you apart in this world.” With that, Menzel drops her nighttime skin-care routine, and explains everything she uses to keep her skin looking its best.

To start, she reaches for Cetaphil Foaming Facial Cleanser ($9), which is gentle enough for daily use and softens the skin sans any signs of stripping. Then, she applies Tatcha Camellia Cleansing Oil ($48). “It’s oily, but not greasy. It gets everything off, including your eye makeup. That one is a bit more fancy.” Her daily retinol: SkinCeuticals Retinol 0.3 ($67).

If she’s using a face mask before head-hits-pillow, it’s the classic SK-II Pitera Facial Treatment Mask ($139), which features a blend of vitamins, amino acids, minerals and organic acids to rejuvenate the skin.

For moisturizer, Menzel keeps two on her vanity. “I use the Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair ($88) and the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Night Concentrate ($110), which I love. I normally travel a lot and I’m on planes, so my skin tends to get dry, which is why moisturizer is so important for me.”

Underneath the eyes, Menzel applies Kate Somerville Age Arrest Eye Cream ($88) or the magical Charlotte Tilbury Cryo-Recovery Eye Serum ($68), which she says makes her skin “look five years younger! It feels soft and makes my skin look buoyant. It doesn’t settle into lines or creases.”
