[unpaid/sample] The Easy Bake aroma comes from the Huda Beauty best selling scented ‘baking’ powders. Baking, in make up, is a process of applying concealer and powder (usually loose) to the skin for a more flawless finish. It requires a damp sponge to apply the loose powder and five to ten minutes ‘baking’ time to allow it to blend with your foundation and/or concealer. I’ve never baked but since I now have the powders, I should give it a go.
The baking technique was apparently made famous by Kim Kardashian and her make up artist, Mario Dedivanoic. Easy Bake is described as ‘a sexy fruity opening that develops into a heart of creamy white florals’. To me, it smells like Barbies – that weirdly sweet plastic kind of aroma (I don’t dislike it!) – with a dash of Nivea sun. It absolutely does dry to a significant level of creaminess and the kick of tuberose is very apparent.
The listed notes are pear, tuberose, ylang ylang, vanilla and sugared amber. I started this review convinced that I’d hate this fragrance but I’m imaging wandering through Selfridges coming across some quirky, niche brand with weirdly named fragrances such as Plastic Doll and being absolutely thrilled that I’d found something so edgy. I honestly don’t know if I love it or hate it. The dry down is less doll and more sweet, embracing floral but you will have to go through the emotional memories of cutting your Barbie’s hair and ruining your favourite doll to get there.
