Eva Longoria’s Textured Cannes Ponytail Is Anything But Basic — See Photos

The Cannes Film Festival is in full swing, so you know we’ve got our eyes firmly transfixed on the French Riviera’s most exciting red carpet. Tuesday, May 17 was day one of the two-week-long affair, and we already like what we see, beauty-wise. Eva Longoria was on hand for opening night, clad in a sheer floor-length, ruffle-laden Alberta Ferretti gown sprinkled with strategically-placed paillettes and beads. It’s equal parts soft and edgy, much like the glam Longoria’s team paired with it.

The gown called for some fierce eye makeup and the actor’s artist delivered with black winged liner and a little kohl smoked out on her lower lash line. The rest of her face is flushed and bronzed, with nude-pink glossy lips and brown liner pulling the beat together.

What we love most, though, is this hair. It’s a masterclass in how to elevate a textured ponytail for the red carpet. Besides that, it’s got some elements of the modern beehive look we’ve been seeing everywhere — this one just involves a ponytail. The key to this style is the size and placement of that beehive bump: It’s just a bit more subtle, a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kinda deal. A baby beehive, if you will. That bit of extra volume at the top of her head elevates the overall look, making it red carpet (as opposed to hot yoga) ready. And can we get into those sweeping, curtain-like tendrils framing Longoria’s face? Gorgeous.
