[unpaid/Sample/Affiliate/ad] It’s unusual for me to post on a Saturday but this palette has had so many comments over on Instagram and it’s currently got 20% off so I didn’t want to leave it to next week and risk it being sold out.

This is such a wearable palette – there’s nothing here I wouldn’t wear and I’ve been using the central black shade to create a dark smoky eye (shown in the recent Chanel Christmas lip post). It’s divine and even putting aside my natural love of Chanel, it’s just made to perfection. You can go light and luminous or deep and daring or of course, anything in between.

This smoky eye was created using the black shade on my lid and a very light underline of the same shade. The only other thing I did, aside from kohl, is to use the lighter golden shade second from the right up to my brow.

Chanel has thrown all the shimmer at a neutral collection and elevated it above and beyond. I think just a plain gold or silver lid is beautiful – bit of mascara and that’s all you need to bring the lustre to your look. Simple and easy – I don’t even think to get fancy with eye looks any more – I’m just not interested in cut creases or shoe-horning twelve shades onto each lid. It’s very easy to look as though you’ve spend time and attention with this palette though – and all you’ve done is add a single colour to your lid.

CHANEL Rouge Allure L’Extrait

Any of the shades will work to be party ready with the five colours anging from platinum beige and bronze, to shimmering black, rose gold and diamond white.

The fly in the double c ointment of course is that as soon as you use it you will lose the exquisite sequin detail. Generally, I keep anything as detailed as this for my collection but I’ve dived in, sequins be damned, because I can’t not wear it :-). Anyway, it’s an expensive palette at £65 but John Lewis has it for £52 HERE which feels (somewhat) more reasonable.
