A 25-year-old woman from San Diego has spoken out about her advanced cancer being missed by several doctors. Eventually, she received a diagnosis of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma. Here are the warning signs linked to this condition.
This wasn’t the only time the 25-year-old’s cancer got missed.
She went to several doctors before receiving the confirmation of cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma.
Eventually diagnosed in October 2020, Kasey was told that she didn’t have much time left.
Rhabdomyosarcoma is a type of sarcoma – cancer of soft tissue, connective tissue, or bone.

The National Cancer Institute states that these signs can be also caused by other conditions.
However, they recommend checking with a doctor if symptoms like these do appear.
Altman told the Caters News Agency about her initial symptoms: “I had these tumours pop up on my body, which was close to my anus, and no one would listen to me because I was young, healthy, and looked fine.”
She has undergone chemotherapy but the cancer still returned.
She added: “I’m at the point now where I’m advocating for myself now and taking an active role in my treatment. We’re pursuing every option under the sun.”
