[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] There’s not quite a nip in the air down south yet but your body senses when a season change is about to happen I think. Although I like a candle in summer, autumn and winter feel like their most natural times of year to hunker down and properly enjoy them.
Bruler’s Black Cherry Candle is like the velvet throw of candle scents. It’s smooth, it’s sweet and it’s laced with rum – truly a gourmand note experience. I have a weird relationship with Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry fragrance which this very much reminds me of in that it’s almost too overwhelming. It’s wonderful in the initial few moments and then it’s so much that I’ve had enough very quickly. Which makes for the perfect candle over fragrance event – you can enjoy in the moment without committing to all day long.
I think you’ll know straight away whether this is for you – cherry is rich and enveloping but when you add rum to the mix it’s a whole other level. Almond isn’t noted in the scent profile but I swear I smell it! I’d suggest Bruler Black Cherry Candle for nightfall when you need to bring warmth and sensuality to your evening – it’s not so much about comfort as languidness and contentment. I’m very keen on the fact that you can buy the small tin version for £10 HERE so you can dip your toe into the fragrance without over-committing. One thing I note is that the squidgy fillers that keep the candle straight in the box are sprayed so when you open the box you get a huge, huge cherry note that the candle doesn’t deliver at the same strength. In my book, that’s good because gentleness is needed with cherry and gourmands but wanted to flag it because I’m not sure it’s the ideal way to start the Black Cherry experience. Also, why that soy sticker is needed I’m not sure – it’s not even straight.
