When 90% of the internet teams up to roast you, you’ve officially reached peak cringe lord status. Hell, the so-called “Alpha males” are even giving the neckbeards a run for their money.

Influencer Aaron Marino — the self-proclaimed “Alpha M” — launched Tailored: 6 Weeks to Living Lean-to dial up your “sexiness game from a 6 to an 11.5” (literally his words).

If you can look beyond the name, this volume-oriented six-week program should leave you with enough functional strength, speed, size, and style to keep those Tinder notifications flowin’.

Check out our review of Alpha M’s Tailored program below!

About the Creator – Alpha M (Aaron Marino)

Alpha M (real name Aaron Marino) is a former natural bodybuilder known for his lean, symmetrical, aesthetic physique.

But off the stage, Marino is better known as a men’s style guru with over 700,000 Instagram followers and 6.52 million YouTube subscribers.

His alpha male, pick-up-artist-themed video collection includes “how to flirt without being creepy” and clips detailing how to shave the family jewels (really).

Alpha M’s Tailored: 6 Weeks to Living Lean Overview

Alpha M’s Tailored isn’t just a Body Fit workout program. Packed inside this six-week routine is your cheat code to build strength and size and style and “substance.”

Aaron Marino is a firm believer that being “alpha” means focusing on your mind, body, and relationship to build an aesthetic physique while mastering “alpha” grooming and style habits.

Big oof.

This high-set, high-rep, low-frequency routine will drag your ass to the gym four days per week for resistance training with another two weekly cardio sessions.

Here’s a closer look at the program ahead:

  • Fitness level: Intermediate
  • Duration: 6 weeks
  • Workouts per week: 4
  • Average workout duration: 45–60 minutes
  • Equipment needed: Full gym access
  • Goal: Weight loss (mostly getting lean)

Note: This program requires equipment you’d find in a typical gym setting. Check out Scott Herman’s Metaburn90 if you’re looking for an intermediate weight loss program you can do it at home instead.

6 Weeks to Living Lean Details

Are you tired of feeling like a beta? Did you physically cringe after reading that? Good — now, here’s a complete overview of 6 Weeks to Living Lean.

Main Page

You can tell a lot about a program by how it begins. Marino kicks this bad boy off with the word “gentlemen,” which pretty accurately sets the stage for the journey (and eye rolls) ahead.

Here, Marino explains how to tailor (heh) this program to your experience levels — such as halving the number of sets — and maps out the program’s schedule and required equipment:

Schedule

From this point forward, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays will be strength days, while Wednesdays and Fridays call for cardio — typically 30–50-ish minutes on the treadmill.

Day of the Week Workout
Monday Chest, Triceps, & Cardio
Tuesday Back, Biceps, & Abs
Wednesday Active Rest – Cardio Only
Thursday Legs
Friday Cardio Only
Saturday Shoulders, Abs, & Cardio
Sunday Rest

As the weeks drag on, you’ll notice some variety in the exercises, intensity, sets, and reps. For example, you might do bodyweight squats one week and then jump squats another.

Meg Squats would be proud ????

Besides that, the schedule above won’t really change.

Equipment

If you’ve got a gym membership, you’re already prepped for Tailored. This program requires dumbbells, a barbell, a cable machine, various gym machines, and cardio equipment.

Workout Schedule

Inside the “Workout Schedule” module is where Aaron Marino breaks down the week ahead (of six) and your daily workout sessions. And — spoiler alert — day one delivers quite the beating.

Really, day one (chest, triceps, & cardio) jams 600+ reps and 37 sets into a single workout with exercises like:

  • Push-ups
  • Pec decks
  • Flat dumbbell presses
  • Dumbbell flyes
  • Chest dips
  • Push-ups (again)
  • Rope press-downs
  • Bench dips
  • EZ-bar skull crushers
  • Dumbbell kickbacks
  • A 20-minute treadmill run in your target heart rate zone (to top it all off)

… And, that’s just day one.

Here’s a quick glance at the rest of the brutal, high-volume program:

  1. Day two shifts the focus to widening your V-taper and exploding your biceps, day four is all about adding inches to your wheels (including sets of 50 reps on the calf raise), and day six will beef up your delts and chisel away at the six-pack.
  2. Research shows that exceeding the 20–30-set range is where potential gains level off, which Tailored very much does.
  3. Most workouts call for 3–5 sets per exercise and 10–20 reps per set, with some exceptions — like 25–50 reps per calf set.
  4. Marino sneaks in a few “life-changing” video clips throughout the program, including a four-minute video about the style sins you’re committing and how to convince people this “dude’s got it goin’ on” (AKA, wearing clothes that fit).
  5. The combined strength and cardio days list 20 minutes of steady running on the treadmill; straight-up cardio days ramp up to 30–50 minutes.
  6. Tailored mixes in a few supersets here and there with a trend of super short, 45-second rest between sets.
  7. There’s no HIIT. We repeat, there’s no HIIT.
  8. If you’re training cardio, the goal is to stay within your target heart rate zone: (220 – your age) * 0.65 to get the low end and * 0.80 for the high end.

Nutrition Plan

Oh, Neptune. We’ve got another guru spouting fitness advice to intermediates with no idea of how many calories and macros they eat. (But he says 1g of protein per pound is a good goal.)

Marino is (unsurprisingly) anti-processed foods and alcohol (no more than once per day) and pre-grilled meats, vegetables, and water or other zero-calorie drinks.

His Tailored meal formula revolves around four little letters: P (for protein), C (for carbohydrates), V (for vegetables), and F (for fruit):

Meal Formula
1 P + C (Optional: F)
2 P + C (+ V or F)
3 P + C
4 P + 2 V
5 (Optional) P + 2 V
Snacks V

In addition to a long list of which foods fit into each category, Marino closes out the program with a few sample meals, like chicken, quinoa, and roasted vegetables for dinner.

Supplement Recommendations

Whether you’re fighting a beast of a plateau or want to dial up your gains, Marino details his all-time favorite supplements in this section.

Throughout the day, Marino’s Supp line-up features:

  • CLA – is known to increase weight loss (study) slightly
  • Pre-workout – can slightly boost force mid-workout (study)
  • Creatine – increases muscle thickness and strength (study)
  • Glutamine – resists fatigue (study) and reduces muscle soreness (study)
  • Whey protein
  • L-carnitine
  • Fish/krill oil
  • Multivitamin

Swolverine Whey Protein Isolate

This is one of our top recommended whey protein powders because of it’s high protein content per serving, extreme deliciousness, and the fact that all Swolverine products are sourced from GMP-certified facilities

Alpha M also does something we rarely ever see — he recommends researching each one yourself and deciding whether they’re the right fit for you. Respect.

Bonus Videos

We’ll make this quick. If you need advice on maintaining a consistent diet, learning how to groom yourself, or sticking to a workout program, Marino added short but motivating clips.

(Also, we’re not sure what this guy is on, but — hell — we want some.)

7 Alpha M’s Tailored Pros

  1. Most of the recommended supplements are well-respected and proven to work.
  2. Hallelujah! While HIIT is the “gold standard” for fat loss amongst lean guys, training within your target heart rate zone is also effective for fat loss and cardiovascular health.
  3. The strength and cardio combo will undoubtedly help you lose fat and build mass.
  4. Alpha M’s upbeat personality is contagious and motivating.
  5. The daily volume is insane, but Marino’s once-a-week frequency curbs the risk of overtraining by a bit.
  6. Tailored features the classic exercises you know and love.
  7. Marino includes a few helpful nuggets in his bonus videos if you need style advice and tips for building confidence.

4 Alpha M’s Tailored Program Cons.

  1. The entire concept of “alpha” and “beta” males is beyond silly.
  2. Volume fuels gains, but 500+ reps and 40-ish sets per workout will launch you toward the point of diminishing returns.
  3. Not counting macros and calories may work for Marino and other former and current bodybuilders, but intermediates should still be monitoring their intake.
  4. Marino admits it as well — six weeks is not enough to turn you completely lean (unless you’re already close), but it’s a great foundation.

Tailored: 6 Weeks to Living Lean – Final Thoughts

Tailored: 6 Weeks to Living Lean is a solid intermediate program for those accustomed to high-volume training with the side goal of becoming more stylish and confident.

While a bit vague, the diet plan is backed by nutritional logic, and most of the supplements work as described. Heck, the classic exercise choices are another unexpected win for Tailored.

But if you’re a beginner or don’t have the time or energy to crank out 500+ reps per day, Tailored will be far too overwhelming.

The whole “alpha” talk is a little cringe, too, and this program won’t suddenly make you an “alpha male” or a ladies’ man.
