Aditi Rao Hydari’s Angrakha Draws Inspiration From This Iconic Hindi Film Song From Film Pakeezha

Recently, the Heermandi actress took to Instagram to share a series of surreal images of her in a quintessential Indian silhouette, which not only breathtaking but celebrated her love for Indian craftsmanship.

Capturing her beauty in an eclectic, effortless and opulent silhouette was renowned fashion designer Punit Balana. Like a beautiful verse of an evergreen love song, the ensemble captured the elegance and grace of Aditi with elan.

Aditi Rao Hydari effortlessly embodies the spirit of Punit Balana’s Modern Jaipur collection in an exquisite Pakeezah Angrakha. According to Punit Balana, he drew inspiration from the iconic song Thare Rahiyo from the movie Pakeezah while constructing this ensemble. The classic song truly captures the essence of Aditi’s beauty and Punit has beautifully woven the magic of the melody into this ethnic wear.

The piece of art is crafted with 64 kalis to give it a voluminous flare. The ensemble is further enhanced with intricate resham embroidery detailing on the bottom ghera. In a romantic shade of masoom gulabi and ivory, the angrakha is made in chanderi silk and comes at a price of 65,000 INR.

Paying homage to the polo lifestyle of the Pink City with his spring//summer 2024 collection, Modern Jaipur, each design is a celebration of Punit’s design language with a timeless narrative celebrating his love for Indian craftsmanship.

Styled by celebrity stylist Sanam Ratansi, Aditi Rao Hydari’s makeup was done by Tanuja Dabir, and hair was styled by Daksh Nidhi. Adding a hint of sparkle to her pastel look, Aditi adorned a pair of chandbali earrings.

Aditi is all set to mesmerise her fans as Bibbojaan in the upcoming magnum opus drama series Heeramandi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, on May 1 on Netflix. Along With Aditi, the ensemble cast also features an array of stars including Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharmin Segal, Fardeen Khan, and Shekhar Suman to name a few.
