The astrologer mentioned that some people break a branch of the tree and worship it on this day but this way is not correct.

Pandit Nand Kishore mentioned that on the auspicious occasion of Vat Purnima, women should worship the banyan tree by offering various types of fruits and flowers. When asked which banyan tree should be worshipped, he stated that the banyan tree filled with leaves should be worshipped.

The astrologer also mentioned that a banyan tree that does not bear fruit should not be worshipped as it is not considered holy. The surroundings of the tree should be clean and tidy. Adding to it, one should not take a branch and worship as it does not yield any auspicious result.

Time

According to the astrologer, Purnima will start at 7:23 PM on June 5 and continue till 9:19 PM on June 6. Therefore, fasting on this auspicious occasion should be observed on June 6. The auspicious time to hold the puja on June 6 is from 6 AM to 9 AM.
