Urvashi Rautela has previously been to the Cannes Film Festival in 2022 and 2023.
Urvashi Rautela has once again shown her best fashion style at the world-famous Cannes Film Festival. The former pageant queen chose a fuchsia corseted dress that came with a slit skirt. She added a touch of drama to her outfit by adding a circular halo-like ensemble. Rautela styled her hair with a jewelled headband and put her hair in an updo that went well with her tube-style top. To complete the look, she wore lace gloves with silver bangles. Her silver earrings completed the look.
Rautela’s dress was by Khaled & Marwan, a Haute couture fashion house in Beirut, Lebanon. In her Instagram caption, the 30-year-old actor wrote, “Festival de Cannes 2024 OPENING CEREMONY with my ultimate fav MERYL STREEP”
The Love Dose actor is not new to the Cannes Film Festival. She first made her Cannes debut in 2022 when she attended the festival for the poster launch of her Tamil debut film, The Legend. Next year, she returned to the festival and was seen attending the premiere of Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny.
Last year, Urvashi Rautela courted controversy after Arundhati De-Sheth, a popular private jewellery shopping consultant, called her out for wearing a replica of the iconic “alligator necklace” by Cartier, which was specially made in 1975 for Mexican actress María Félix.
In an Instagram Story, Arundhati De-Sheth shared a picture of the original necklace and wrote, “Going to Cannes in France, home of Cartier and then wearing a poor, shoddy, sad, ugly copy of a historic piece. Allegedly representing our nation and pretending to be wearing the real thing.” She tagged Rautela’s team and wrote, “It seems you have not done any homework. We are a land of the most special treasures and jewels that she could have worn instead; this is blatant and so sad.”
Urvashi Rautela’s team did not clarify if the necklace was fake or real. While speaking to Brut India, Rautela dismissed the critics and implied that the necklace was real. She said, “I wasn’t aware of this, but I got to know that it was worn by Monica Bellucci back in 2006 at Cannes. I had absolutely no idea about it.”
