UnitedHealth Group’s Optum announced Tuesday it plans to purchase in-home healthcare provider LHC for an estimated $5.4 billion.
The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2022, a news release said.
“Working together as organizations committed to caring for the most vulnerable in society will help us more effectively and efficiently deliver high quality and increasingly value-based care in the home,” LHC Group Chairman and CEO Keith Myers said in a news release.
LHC Group leadership will remain on after the acquisition.
