Supermodel Elle MacPherson has lead the celebrity celebrations for Australian Mother’s Day as she posted a touching tribute to her mother, Frances.
Sydney-born Elle took the opportunity to share a rarely-seen photo of herself and her mother from her first wedding in 1985, when the model was just 21.
‘Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mother. I love this image of us laughing together at my wedding 1985, I was 21 and mum not much older, sisters really,’ Elle said of the pair, who have a striking resemblance.

She went on to thank her mother for bringing her into the world, in a lovely tribute to Frances – with the pair known to be close.
‘Thank you for having the courage to bring me into this world so I could experience this magical multifaceted miraculous embodiment. I love you,’ she finished.

Ironman Jett Kenny surprised his mother, Lisa, with a loving post with the family still reeling from the death of his sister, Jaimi, aged 33.
Jett wrote: ‘Happy Mother’s Day to not only my wonderful mother, but to those who have lost their mums, may not have a great connection with your mum and everyone else,’ he wrote.
He went on to congratulate Lisa on releasing her new memoir: ‘Congratulations on releasing your book – maybe I’ll get around to reading it one day,’ he finished.

The Veronicas, twins Lisa and Jess Origliasso, shared a beautiful tribute to their mother Colleen, who passed-away last year.
Colleen passed after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy and lewy body dementia, which saw the girls care for her.
