Wearing sunscreen every day is one of the easiest things you can do to stave off skin issues like wrinkles, discoloration, and of course, skin cancer. As a beauty editor, I know this, and have heard it repeated by dermatologists at least once a week week, every week, for the last seven years. But even so, I’ve historically been guilty of leaving the house without a single drop of SPF on my skin, because I was never able to find a product that I loved enough to actually put on every day. Thankfully, I met Supergoop Glow Screen, and it turned me into the type of daily sunscreen wearer any dermatologist would be proud of.
Here’s the thing about Glow Screen: It doesn’t actually feel like a sunscreen at all. It’s more like a radiance-boosting primer that happens to have SPF in it. Unlike so many of the other sun-protection products I’ve tossed to the side over the years, it doesn’t leave skin goopy, greasy, chalky, or matte. It’s got a lightly tinted, pearlescent finish, and acts as a sort of all-over, skin-tone evening highlighter that delivers exactly the glow its name promises. If they were to bottle up my go-to Instagram filter (or the Zoom “touch up my appearance” filter) and sell it on a shelf, this would be it.
Supergoop! Glowscreen Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 40
Because of how gorgeous Glowscreen looks on my skin, I’d love it even if it didn’t have any complexion-nourishing properties. So the fact that it offers protection from pollution, blue light and ya know, the sun, makes it that much better. The product is formulated with antioxidant-packed ingredients, like sea lavender and cocoa peptides, plus broad-spectrum SPF 40, which is higher than the SPF 30 that derms recommend for daily wear. Thanks to hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5, it also happens to be extra hydrating, which explains the dewiness that sticks around for hours after application.
In the last six months, there hasn’t been a single morning that I’ve skipped out on using Glow Screen. It’s the one beauty product I truly couldn’t live without and makes my complexion look so even and radiant that I rarely even bother putting makeup on with it. On the rare occasion that I do layer foundation on top, it primes skin with an ever-so shimmery finish—one that I love so much, I’ve been known to wear it at night. It’s truly a 24/7, 365 product, and the fact that it happens to be sunscreen is just icing on the cake.
As any dermatologist will tell you, the best sunscreen is the one you’ll wear every day. I only wish that I’d found this one sooner.
