Fuchsia Shimmer

Sephora Fuchsia Shimmer Ultimate Gel Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil ($13.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a vivid, medium-dark fuchsia pink with subtle, cool undertones and finer, cooler violet pearl. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation that applied evenly and layered well as the texture was emollient enough not to tug but not where it was prone to moving around during layering. It lasted well for eight hours on me.

Formula Overview

$13.00/0.01 oz. – $1300.00 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be “long-lasting” and “waterproof” with color that “wont smudge, flake, or crack” with “one-stroke application without skipping” that delivers “vibrant color.” Well, those are the kind of claims you’d expect for a top tier eyeliner formula, but these are definitely more like two strokes–or overlapping strokes–to get more semi-opaque to opaque color. Some shades layered better than others; the “glitter” finish was the worst-performing–sheerer and less readily built up.

The texture was barely creamy but on the stiffer side, particularly with some of the lighter mattes, which I noticed were more prone to snapping off at the tip. These don’t contain much product, which is consistent and typical for twist-up eyeliners, so that’s not ideal as there isn’t a whole lot of product to waste! They tended not to tug noticeably on my lower lash line, but they didn’t have as much as glide as more eyeliners have these days (which some may prefer!).

They wore decently; they were relatively waterproof and lasted between eight and nine hours on average. I didn’t have issues with smudging or flaking.

Olive Glitter

Sephora Olive Glitter Ultimate Gel Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil ($13.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a medium-dark olive green with strong, warm brown undertones and flecks of larger sparkle. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which did not layer very well; I expect that was the result of the larger sparkles, which just kind of pushed and moved product around. Keep in mind, while very obvious in unevenness in the swatch photo, in practice, as an eyeliner on the lower lash line, it was less noticeable.

The eyeliner formula could have been a little thicker and more emollient for better glide. It wore well for eight hours before showing signs of thinning.

Aqua Glitter

Sephora Aqua Glitter Ultimate Gel Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil ($13.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a medium blue with cooler undertones and flecks of sparkle over a more pearl-like sheen. It had sheer to semi-sheer pigmentation, which was somewhat buildable to semi-opaque coverage, but it always retained a more faded quality due to the lack of pigmentation, which was apparent even as a thin line on my lower lash line.

The texture was a little stiff to work with and dragged a touch. This shade started to thin after seven hours of wear.

Purple Glitter

Sephora Purple Glitter Ultimate Gel Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil ($13.00 for 0.01 oz.) is a medium, pinky-purple with warmer undertones and a sparkly finish. It had semi-opaque color coverage that did not build up well, as the sparkles seemed to push some product around and enabled it to pile up unevenly (in actual, physical thickness).

The texture was drier and stiffer than ideal, so I could feel the sparkles and light tugging during application on my lower lash line. It wore decently for seven hours on me.
