[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] Before Christmas I met up with a fellow writer and the PR for Moncler who showed us the limited edition LED screen fragrance bottle for the men’s fragrance. What a valentine’s day opportunity I missed, there! You can program it from your phone to say whatever you want within a certain letter count. Obviously, we wanted it to swear because you can take two adult journalists out somewhere grown up and they will still find a way to lower the tone. We weren’t allowed. However, it seems like a good time, with all the snow from the Olympics on our TV screens (new phrases learned – triple cork, switch back side and spin & flip), to mention Moncler Pour Femme. I always see Moncler as a ski brand (that I can’t afford – down jacket, £1300-ish) so it’s largely been under my radar. I didn’t even know they had fragrance. They also use real fur and I can’t not mention that – not everything, but some things.
I find it rather an interesting composition – it’s not your usual ‘pour femme’. If anything, to my nose, it falls masculine but it’s certainly on-brand with a ‘powdery snow accord’. There are floral notes in there too – jasmine and heliotrope and if you prefer your jasmine to take a backstage role, I’d say it does in this juice. The heliotrope is more prominent, which I think is unusual because jasmine is the easy fall-back.
I think what’s giving it the traditionally masculine aspect is the wood accord comprising cedar and sandalwood. It’s kind of balsamic, earthy and a little bit smoky. It’s avoided falling into ‘sporty’ by making the woods creamy and adding a twist of vanilla and amber. You can find it in varying sizes from £76 HERE.
The LED screen version (pour femme and pour homme) is £170 HERE just in case you have a message you’d like to give!
