Meet the Skin Care Line That Was Made for People Who Travel (and Don’t Sleep)

Members-only Soho House doesn’t do anything that’s not solid, and its newly dropped 10-piece genderless skin-care line—it was available in-room for a bit and will roll out in full this week—is no exception.

Created via a marriage of cosmetic chemists (they’re big on backing actual science) and insight from members of Soho House (there are 142K of them globally and they’re big on traveling, being busy and sometimes not sleeping so much), Soho Skin bills itself as a “high skin energy collection that targets the energy center of the skin cell” to help improve skin texture, tone, elasticity, resilience and improve skin function.

While that might sound like a bunch of lofty goals, at a recent breakfast introduction to the line, the first person who greeted me as I walked through the door was a cosmetic scientist—who later went into great detail during the presentation on all the connections between mitochondria, cell energy and a whole bunch of science terms I hadn’t heard thrown around since junior high science class.

He also went into great detail on all the ways a hectic lifestyle can wreak havoc on our skin (think: less radiance, less “bounciness,” and just kind of not looking its best), which definitely struck a chord.

The bottom line: The products—there’s a Cream Cleanser, the 24/7 Treatment, Renewal Serum, Face Cream, Lip Balm, Eye Cream, Detox Mask, Liquid Exfoliator, Overnight Cream, and a Shave Gel— took a lot of hard work to come up with, and the result is, in turn, a hard-working line.

My favorite: The 24/7 Treatment ($110)—aka, “the disco nap serum”—a transformational treatment that uses exfoliating lactic acid and that standby hydrator of hyaluronic acid and works pretty fast to give you that plumpy, dewy look. It also contains the proprietary Soho Skin Concentrate, the core factor in the line that consists of a combination of actives that enhance cellular activity and protect the microbiome, leaving skin looking brighter, clearer and smoother.
