Today, we will talk about one such recipe using raw mango that will help you to beat this heat. This is a South Indian recipe named Mango Rasam. Its taste is sweet, tangy, and spicy. Let us look at the recipe of Mango Rasam.

Ingredients: 

  1. Raw mangoes – 2

  2. Mint leaves – 7 to 8

  3. Crushed black pepper – half teaspoon

  4. Garlic – 7 to 8 cloves

  5. Onion – 1

  6. Mustard Seeds

  7. Green chilli – as per taste

  8. Black salt – as per taste

Method of Making Mango Rasam: 

  1. First, wash the mangoes properly. Then put the mangoes in a pressure cooker and wait for 4 whistles.

  2. Wait for the mangoes to cool down and then remove their peel.

  3. Then use your hands to mash the pulp and remove the seeds. You can also use a mixer grinder to do it.

  4. Then put pepper, garlic, and green chilli in the mixer and grind it well. You can also crush them.

  5. Now, take a pan and heat it for sometime. Add 3 to 4 teaspoons of oil to the pan and add some mustard seeds and red chilli to the oil for seasoning.

  6. Wait for sometime and then add cumin seeds to the pan.

  7. Then add the mixed masalas and roast it well.

  8. When the masala is roasted, add the mango paste. Stir it well and add salt according to your taste

  9. Then add water as required and cover the pan for around two minutes. When it starts boiling, turn off the gas and add the mint leaves to it

Mango Rasam is ready to serve! You can eat it with rice and roti. You can also consume it with soup. This dish helps you to keep your body cool and hydrated.
