MATRIX Brass Off All-In-One Toning Leave-In Spray ($24)
Designed for dark blondes and light brunettes who lighten their hair with color or bleach, this lightweight spray deposits blue pigment to neutralize orangey, brassy undertones that build up between salon visits (I don’t know about you, but when my hair gets brassy it drives me crazy!). Blue is the opposite of orange on the color wheel, so blue cuts through the brassiness to restore a cooler or more neutral tone.
What’s cool about this new product, too, is that it essentially acts as a leave-in conditioner—it detangles, moisturizes, boosts shine, smooths frizz, and so much more—but with buildable toning benefits. I like to put a towel (an old one I don’t really care about) around my shoulders like they do at the salon, and then spray it onto towel-dried hair, comb it through and then style as usual.
