Leave it to singer Gwen Stefani to serve one of the most festive Christmas outfits we’ve seen so far this season. On December 21, the No Doubt singer shared two photos on Instagram of her posing in what appears to be a reindeer onesie pajama set and some thigh-high red boots.
Stefani’s holiday getup also harkened back to her late-’90s pink hair phase — she wore a long, straight, bubblegum-pink look with blunt bangs. (Though we’re guessing she was most likely wearing a wig.) Pink seems to be a top priority for Stefani’s holiday glam, given that she also traded her signature red lips for a pink shade that matches her hair. And we can’t ignore her nails: a black-and-white checkered manicure that feels like simpler take on the multicolored patchwork nail art trend.

Stefani is not the only celebrity that has decided to stray from traditional Christmas colors this year. Actor Gabrielle Union recently showed off a hot pink manicure on Instagram earlier this week while on a tropical vacation with her family.
With both Stefani and Union seemingly swapping red for pink this Christmas week, is the latter on its way to becoming a new Christmas color mainstay? Life, as we all know it, has been rather bleak lately (especially during a time that is supposed to be cheerful), so a switch to an unexpected color can make all the difference in uplifting one’s mood.
Pink lovers everywhere (like myself) definitely wouldn’t mind one bit if the vibrant color becomes a Christmas staple from here on out. Petition to make pink the new Christmas red? I think yes.
