ColourPop x Bambi Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Bambi

ColourPop Bambi 5-Pan Pressed Powder Palette ($10.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a new, limited edition palette that included three matte eyeshadows, one sparkle matte eyeshadow, and one shimmer eyeshadow. The palette launches on February 25th at 10AM PT. The formula was very powdery–not just in the pan or yielding a bit of fallout but a ton of fallout that required real clean-up with makeup remover, not just brushing it away. Despite the powderiness, they performed decently; they had mostly opaque, buildable coverage on my lid and blended out well with decent wear.

Little April Shower

Little April Shower is a medium-dark yellow with strong, warm orange undertones and a matte finish. It didn’t look quite so yellow or as deep in the pan as it actually ended up looking on skin.

The texture was moderately powdery, which meant it sheered out a touch during application, but the powderiness seemed to lead more to fallout and a mess in the palette than inferior application or coverage. It had opaque coverage and retained most of it after I applied and blended it out. The color showed signs of fading after seven and a half hours of wear.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.

The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Young Prince

Young Prince is a brighter, medium-dark orange with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It was richly pigmented with a soft, smooth consistency that was blendable, but it was also quite powdery, so you’ll want to use a light hand to avoid a ton of excess product kicked up in the pan.

There wasn’t much to do about the fallout during application, as even a lighter hand yielded measurable fallout that needed to be properly cleaned up, not just brushed away. I was surprised that it retained most of its opacity when applied and blended out on my skin, though. It wore well for eight hours before fading a bit.

Kinda Bashful

Kinda Bashful is a light-medium brown with moderate, warm undertones–not quite orange, not quite yellow–paired with a matte finish. The texture was quite powdery with a lot of excess in the pan but also enough to yield a fair amount of fallout during blending. It was a testament to how pigmented the eyeshadow was that it still managed to be opaque in practice. It lasted well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Whitetail

Whitetail is a medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish with sparkles throughout. The sparkles did not bind with the underlying eyeshadow, so there was some fallout from their inclusion when I worked with this shade on my lid–even if I tried to pat it on and barely blend most of it.

The texture was fairly powdery, despite being more finely-milled and substantial, so it was messy to work with. It had opaque color coverage that barely sheered out, which was impressive given how much fallout there was. The color stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.
