By the Rose
ColourPop By the Rose 12-Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette ($14.00 for 0.3 oz.) is a new, warmer pink and coral eyeshadow palette that included four true mattes, one sparkly matte, and four shimmers. The eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, and longer-wearing, though I think that the inclusion of both Sunday Soiree and Effervescent was redundant and made the palette less versatile than it could have been.
Ingredients
Sparkling
Sparkling is a light pink with strong, warm undertones and a sparkling sheen. It had opaque color payoff paired with a smooth, moderately emollient consistency that had good adhesion to bare skin and wasn’t prone to fallout. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.

The new Pressed Powder Shadow formula is supposed to be “highly pigmented” with an “ultra-velvety and silky” texture that is “long-wearing” and “adheres easily to the eyes.” Most of the shades have semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation that applies well to bare skin, blends out without issue, and lasts for seven to eight hours.
The matte eyeshadows tend to be a little more powdery, though soft and finely-milled, in the pan, while the shimmers have a creamier, dense consistency. Occasionally, the more sparkly or metallic shades apply better with fingertips or a dampened brush.

Picnic Basket is a pale pink with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. The consistency was denser, velvety, and smooth, which gave it better grip and opacity, even when blended out. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Effervescent
Effervescent is a deep, reddish-coral with moderate, warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow had opaque color payoff paired with a soft, smooth texture that wasn’t powdery nor too firmly-pressed into the pan, so it was blendable but not prone to sheering out. There were signs of fading present after eight hours of wear.

Ripe
Ripe is a plummy bronze with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The texture was more loosely-pressed, so there was light fallout when I blended out this shade on my lid. It had opaque color coverage that adhered evenly and lasted for eight hours.

Sweetness
Sweetness is a richer, medium-dark brown with subtle, warm undertones and flecks of gold sparkle over a matte finish. The consistency was somewhat powdery, and it was prone to fallout due to the larger flecks of sparkle that did not bind with the underlying color. It had opaque pigmentation that stayed well for eight hours before fading noticeably.
