Ciara Is Giving First Day of 2nd Grade Realness in This High Half-Ponytail — See Video

Ciara‘s got one of those faces that can work with any hairstyle. She looked smashing with the highlighted bixie she recently wore to the 2022 Billboard Women in Music Awards. The blonde bob she had at the 2021 BET Awards? Perfection. When she hit our Instagram feeds with some waist-length auburn waves, we said, “Jessica Rabbit who?”

On March 17 — St. Patrick’s Day — the singer popped up on social media with another hair look to add to the books. Dare to Roam, Ciara’s antimicrobial travel accessories brand, posted a video of her modeling a pastel-neon green backpack. Of course, our eyes were fixed on her full beauty look.

The backpack is cool, but the high half-pony she’s sporting here is just doing it for us. Her dark brown, almost-black strands are pulled to the very top of her head in a super high ponytail that cascades down just past her clavicle. Her ends are polished with a dramatic upturned flip. We can’t tell if the pony is secured with a scrunchie or a hair tie, but it’s still Adorable with a capital A. 

As for her beat, she went for soft glam with neutral matte eye shadow, filled-in brows, and a little gloss for a your-lips-but-better effect. Her nails are similarly understated and refined: they’re in a classic pale, almost nude pink filed to a medium-length almond shape. 

What we love most about the entire beauty moment is that it is so adaptable. Ciara’s wearing it with some (fancy-looking) sweats here, but we can totally imagine her at the VMAs or hosting a TV show with a look like this. It’s hip with a dash of sophistication — an aesthetic the singer routinely does well.
