Actor-turned-politician Chirag Paswan caught the attention at the oath taking ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the third consecutive term on Sunday, June 9, for his unique fashion statement.
The grand oath taking ceremony was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, where PM Modi was sworn in as the Prime Minister for a record third time.
Chirag Paswan, the Lok Janshakti Patry- Ram Vilas (LJP-RV) chief, caught the attention for his fashion statement at the event graced by celebrities, top politicians and foreign dignitaries.
At the ceremony, Chirag Paswan took oath as a Cabinet Minister. Amid a sea of the biggest names in Indian cinema as well as politics, Chirag stood out for his tri-colour inspired outfit.
Chirag opted for a black hued, formal Indo-western outfit with a bandh gala, worn over a white shirt and paired with black pants. The viewers did not miss the complementing tri-colour pocket square, boasting the colours of the Indian flag. His choice of the accessory exhibited the spirit of patriotism.
The young politician is expected to continue the legacy of his father, the late Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan. He won the Lok Sabha seat from Hajipur, Bihar, with over 6.14 lakh votes. He defeated his rival from the RJD with an impressive margin of 1.7 lakh votes. Previously, the seat was held by his late father for a good eight times.
Chirag Paswan’s journey in politics began more than a decade ago, after he had a short stint in Bollywood with the film Miley Naa Miley Hum, which was released in 2011. Interestingly, he starred opposite Kangana Ranaut in the film, who also registered her maiden victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Lok Janshakti Party, won all five seats in Bihar it contested under the leadership of Chirag Paswan.
