CHANEL Spring Make Up 2024 The Palettes

[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’ll be honest, I put off reviewing palettes because it’s such a time-consuming post to make and also, I’ve somewhat lost the knack of a 4 colour eye. But, I’ve grasped the mettle and it turns out I love one palette, am indifferent to another and don’t really like the highlighter.

CHANEL Spring Make Up 2024 The Palettes

This is Les 4 Ombres Multi-Effect Quadra Eyeshadow in Rivage and represents where the land meets the sea which is exactly the inspiration that make up artist and artistic creator of the CHANEL Spring Make Up 2024 Valentina Li used for the collection. There’s a satin turquoise, a sheeny champagne shade, a translucent blue shift and a matte brown. The embossing represents ripples and wave movement. I quite like to see a well thought out inspiration – you can buy any number of palettes that have had no thought whatsoever put into them so while it’s not the palette for me, I appreciate the thoughtfulness of it. The palette has already sold out and I’ve just spotted it on eBay for £90!

Happily, Coral Treasure is still in stock and it’s the one of the two that I really like and shall enjoy wearing. This time, the inspiration is supernatural creatures (which is actually one of my going-in-the-sea fears – something unspeakable might nip my feet – eek!). As you can see there’s a lilac pink shimmer, a soft coral, a matte bright pink and an apricot satin. It’s £54 HERE.

So, here we are – I can see myself doing a pink or apricot eye often during the summer but although I can see it is impactful, I’m not sure I’m ready for the turquoise lid.

This is the Lumiere de L’Ocean pearlescent palette, again representing ripples and ocean movement. To me, the transparent finish has too much of a blue shift and the shimmer is just a bit on the chunky side. I don’t want my face to look glittery. If you’re cool toned and struggle to find illuminators that work for your tone, your luck is in with Lumiere. I think it could look spectacular as a wash over the eye-lids but apart from that, it’s a no for me. Lumiere is £58 HERE.

Swatches

Finally, the swatches – (bottom to top) first is the Lumiere, followed by Rivage, then Coral Treasure.
