My Rose (918)

Chanel My Rose (918) Rouge Coco Baume Tinted Lip Balm ($40.00 for 0.1 oz.) is a medium pink with warmer undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in one layer, which was buildable to medium color payoff if desired.

The texture was lightweight, thin, and comfortable to wear with light slip, though it had a stronger sheen (that did not last for long) than it actually felt to me. It stayed on nicely for three hours and was lightly moisturizing while worn.

Formula Overview

$40.00/0.1 oz. – $400.00 Per Ounce

It’s a tinted take on the Rouge Coco Baume formula, which is intended to be a hydrating lip balm base. The tints ranged from semi-sheer to medium, but for the limited shade range that has debuted, I felt like I was able to see the distinction between most of them. The texture was smooth, lightly emollient, and comfortable to apply to wear while feeling quite lightweight.

For as shiny as they appeared, they didn’t slide around nor feel that emollient on my lips. I appreciated that they were forgiving of lip texture, generally, though they could have softened the look of lip lines a little more. They were lightly hydrating, which I tend to find to be true of formulas like this one where they are lightweight, thin, and don’t adhere for long. These lasted two to three hours on me and definitely had to be applied frequently to stay shiny as the shine wore down in an hour or less.

They had a soft, floral scent, typical of Chanel, and no discernible taste.
