Morgan Wallen appears to be on the comeback trail.
The country music artist, 29, won the Top Country Male Artist at the MGM Grand Garden Arena at the 2022 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, where he also performed a pair of his tracks.
The high-profile outing came about 15 months after Wallen’s career appeared to be derailed after he was caught on camera using the N-word outside of his home in early 2021.

The Sneedville, Tennessee native, with his band in tow, performed the tracks Don’t Think Jesus and Wasted on You on a night the show’s host Diddy said he was looking to ‘uncancel’ Wallen in the wake of his professional struggles following the controversy over his use of the racial slur.
The Whiskey Glasses artist thanked family and fans after his win in the category, saying he’s got ‘the best damn fans’ while thanking his mother Lesli Wallen for accompanying him to the event.
‘I wouldn’t be here without you,’ the Sand in My Boots performer, also thanking Billboard ‘for inviting [him] here’ and his little boy Indigo ‘for inspiring [him] everyday.’
Diddy, who was hosting and producing the show, told reporters he was looking to begin ‘un-canceling the canceled’ at the event, according to Page Six.

He cited Wallen in addition to Travis Scott, who has kept a relatively low-profile since the deaths of 10 people at his Astroworld festival last fall amid a crowd surge.
‘We’re un-canceling the canceled,’ Diddy said. ‘I looked at Morgan’s situation. I looked at Travis’ situation and I said, “Man, I got some power to do something about that.”‘
He continued: ‘We can’t start that in the music industry or even in life period, so I’m here to forgive, to unify, to celebrate, and to have everybody be free. That’s my job.’

Wallen’s professional troubles arose January 31, 2021 after a neighbor recorded the country artist as he came back to his house with friends, disturbing neighbors with loud noise and car horns.
He was heard telling an acquaintance, ‘Take care of this p**** ass [N-word]’ and ‘take care of this p**** ass mother******’ as he entered his Nashville home in a clip posted on TMZ.
