Basant Panchami will begin on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 12:09 pm. The auspicious time for Saraswati Puja will be from 07:01 am to 12:35 pm on February 14. Astrologer Acharya Pandit Alok Pandya shared some steps that can lead to an increase in the concentration span of children on Basant Panchami.
1. Children should worship Goddess Saraswati: As per Pandit Alok Pandya, the children must worship Goddess Saraswati on Vasant Panchami. The children should offer yellow flowers, garlands saffron, etc. to the Goddess. After the completion of the prayers, they should offer the Goddess yellow fruits and sweets as well. Doing these activities is believed to please the Goddess and boost the intellectual development of the children.
2. Chant mantra: As per the astrologer, a student should offer white sandalwood to Goddess Saraswati on Basant Panchami. They should also chant the mantra ॐ ऐं सरस्वत्यै ऐं नमः (Om Ain Saraswatya Ain Namah) 108 times. This will ensure progress in their career and also increase the opportunities for success.
3. Parents should gift children these things: As per the astrologer, the parents should gift stationary materials like pens, books, etc. to their children on Basant Panchami. This will ensure that they get the blessings of the Goddess Saraswati and their attention span will also increase. This step is also believed to cure speech defects in children. Besides these steps, offering materials related to studies at the feet of Goddess Saraswati is also considered auspicious.
Students should also worship the Goddess Saraswati to get rid of lethargy, sluggishness and ignorance. The Goddess is also revered by the artists and the intellectuals as the patroness of learning.
