Green’s journey to becoming 2022’s favorite color arguably got its start back in the fall of 2021 when, according to Glamour UK, Pinterest reported “a 75 percent surge in users searching for “dark green nails” and “acrylic nails green” (also up 55 percent).” In fact, makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes previously confirmed with Allure that “green is everywhere.” Though the nail polish color’s dark undertones pair perfectly with the predominantly moody, overcast days of fall and winter, Kourtney Kardashian has apparently decided to bring the trendy nail color from late last fall over to this spring.
Kardashian gave her 166 million and counting followers a peek at her dark green manicure via her Instagram stories on March 29. She shows off her green-painted nails as she’s casually posing with her phone for a mirror selfie.
We’re not sure if the reality star painted this set herself or sought the expertise of a nail artist, but nevertheless, anyone can try their hand at this manicure. There are plenty of nail polishes to choose from that come pretty close to Kourt’s, such as CND Vinylux Polish in Aura, Smith & Cult Darjeeling Darling, and Orly Breathable Treatment + Color in Pine-ing For You.
Like we said before, dark green fares best with the bleak, grey ambiance of the fall and winter seasons, but it can be said that Kardashian’s mani is the perfect spring nail art alternative for those that are not into the traditional bright pinks and pastel greens that are pretty much found in every spring nail art design.
All trends aside, spring is all about the rebirth and renewal of nature after a long and cold winter. That said, you can never go wrong with painting your nails green in honor of the season.
