Stomach cancer symptoms: Ongoing dyspepsia could be a warning sign of the disease

A person with stomach cancer may also feel sick, and may also vomit; this is because the abnormal cells can “cause a blockage in the stomach”.

On rare occasions, blood may be present in any vomit which can range from bright red to dark brown, resembling coffee grounds.

Risk factors

An infection with Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) causes around 40 percent of stomach cancer cases, said Cancer Research UK.

H.pylori is a bacteria that can live in the mucous of the lining of the stomach, but long-term infection can cause inflammation and stomach ulcers.
