LYS Isn’t Kidding When It Calls Its Triple Fix Concealer “Brightening” — Review, Photos

Gorgeous gorgeous girls wear concealer as foundation, and I am a gorgeous gorgeous girl. For some weird reason, my skin rarely vibes with foundation formulas but never minds a little all-over concealer on top (or mixed into) of a thick layer of moisturizer. When a new concealer hits the market, I immediately contact that brand’s team for a sample for this exact reason. Base makeup I can actually use for once? Sign me the fuck up.

That is exactly what I did when I caught wind of the new LYS Triple Fix Full-Coverage Brightening Concealer. The brand-spanking-new formula, available in 25 shades, doesn’t just come with a near-opaque payoff and creamy texture — staple skin-care ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, squalane, and turmeric are housed in its unique, triangular tube.

What do those do? I’m glad you asked. We all know that hyaluronic acid binds water to itself to make skin, “plumper, dewier, and more hydrated,” as board-certified dermatologist Tsippora Shainhouse, M.D., previously explained to Allure. You might already know that squalane is “a lipid, or fat, made naturally by our oil glands to hydrate and maintain the barrier of our skin,” which we previously learned from Charlotte Birnbaum, M.D., another board-certified dermatologist.

That duo is quite common in makeup these days, but the next two are ones I don’t often see outside of the skin-care realm. Tumeric, a plant in the ginger family, has more superpowers than Clark Kent himself. It “can help wounds heal more quickly by decreasing inflammation and oxidation,” board-certified dermatologist De Anne Harris Collier, M.D., previously told us. She added that turmeric also “reduces acne scarring as well as builds collagen, allowing aging skin to appear more firm and vibrant.” Holy shit.

Nicola wears shade LG1.
