Huda Beauty Light Mini Glow Obsessions Face Palette ($29.00 for 0.22 oz.) includes two gold highlighters, a pale pink highlighting blush, and a light copper highlighter. The texture of the formula was where the palette fell short; it was firmer, denser, and thicker overall, which made it harder to pick up product evenly with a brush.

In order to do so, I typically had to use my brush to push upward or jab a little to get product to loosen off of the surface in order to pick up with an already denser, more flat-topped brush. Once I loosened product, it was fairly blendable and not too difficult to apply/blend out on my skin, thankfully, but it wasn’t effortless–and there’s a sea of effortless, beautiful highlighters already available, so this was a miss.

Light #1

Light #1 is a pale gold with moderate, warm undertones and a luminous sheen. The texture was more giving than most shades in the formula, which made it easier to pick up with a brush and gave it better, smoother adhesion that didn’t require as much blending. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

Light #2

Light #2 is a light pink with cooler undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-sheer color payoff, which was hard to build up due to the texture being particularly firm, stiff, and thicker in the pan, so it did not pick up well with a brush.

Even trying to dislodge product didn’t work as well with this shade, and I had to apply with fingertips to really get coverage and evenness out of it. This shade lasted decently for seven hours on me.

Light #3

Light #3 is a light gold with strong, warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation paired with a moderately dense, firmer texture that was firm enough that it was stiffer and harder to pick up readily with a brush (even a denser one).

Once I was able to push product off the surface of the pan, it applied evenly and blended out nicely without emphasizing my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight hours before fading noticeably.

Light #4

Light #4 is a bright, light copper with strong, warm golden shimmer and sparkle that gave it an intense, metallic finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff in a single layer, but it was troublesome to get the payoff as the texture was quite firm/stiff. I had to try to break through it a bit as it was just so thick and dense.

Once I was able to get product onto my brush, I had additional trouble getting all of it to transfer onto my skin as it was overly thick. I did get a highlighting effect, but I had to build up the coverage to get the base to come through. It showed signs of fading after eight hours of wear.
