[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m trying to imagine asking for this after a cheeky day wine lunch – it’s a looooong name! I’m quite enjoying masks at the moment so was keen to give this one a go – my expectations were plumped up skin and I’m not sure that was achieved in any meaningful way. If the word plumping hadn’t been in the title I’d have been pleased as punch with the results but plumping conjures up tangibly pillowy skin and it just didn’t happen.
In actual fact, this is a very nice mask for giving dull skin some restorative moisture – think of it like a flash balm mask – especially if you’re over-tired and it’s showing on your skin. Use it in the morning obviously – it’s normal to look tired before bed! It contains a small amount of bio-retinol which I don’t think will be useful in the mask as that’s something more for longer term effects than a ‘right now’ benefit but polysaccharides and glycoproteins seem to do their job in rehydrating parched skin as do the oils – cotton seed and geranium included.
Texturally, it’s both fresh and rich at the same time – it smells very clean (no artificial fragrances) and soothing and it feels instantly cool on the skin. I don’t think I’d advise it for sensitive skin unless you already use a retinol or bio retinol, but otherwise, as a morning after the night before rescue, I like it. Just don’t expect a big bloom in your plumpness other than normal moisture levels being restored. It’s quite pricy at £60 for 55ml HERE, non-affiliate HERE. I should note that it contains palm oil – a lot of beauty products do – but I don’t find anything to say its responsibly sourced.
