In a recent video for Vogue, latin pop star Ricky Martin talks through his daily skin and wellness routine. “Let’s start with breakfast,” he says to the camera before throwing back a wellness shot from Kreation, which houses lemon, honey, red onion, garlic and salt. “Ready for the day, let’s go.”
He continues by breaking down the why behind his first beauty secret: alkaline water. “Believe it or not, a lot of people ask me ‘Ricky, how do you take care of your voice?’ My singing coach tells me ‘when you come to class, I need you to have a glass of ice with water.’ Alkaline is really good because it’s filled with electrolytes. This is my favorite one,” he says, sipping on Earth Bar water.
Next, Martin moves on to skin care. After spraying his face with rose water, he goes in with Kumiko Matcha Luxurious Face Wash ($46), a brand that he has recently partnered with. “Matcha is super antioxidant—you just put it in your fingers and it moisturizes…Wash it off with water.”
After he dries his face, Martin rubs an ice cube all over his face. “It stimulates circulation and circulation is oxygen. Look, I have rosy cheeks now.”
Another of his favorites from Kumiko is Matcha Perfectly Radiant Boost-Fresh Balance Tonic ($36). “Your face feels really wet but that’s the way it should be. In the meantime, Aesop is awesome,” he says, rubbing the body lotion ($33) all over his chest. Lastly, he applies a full ampoule of Matcha Intense Recovery – Proteoglycans Plus ($116). “My mom swear by this, I’m not kidding!”
