Studio 10: Sarah Harris says ‘lots of therapy’ helped after separation

Like many this year, Sarah Harris has had an especially difficult 2021.

In an interview with TV Week, the TV presenter said therapy and confiding in her close friends had helped her heal throughout the past few months.

On the mend: Studio 10 host Sarah Harris has admitted ‘lots of therapy’ helped her heal after separating from husband Tom Ward earlier this year

‘Lots of therapy,’ Sarah replied when asked what had helped her get through 2021, adding: ‘Seriously, talking stuff out really helps. Highly recommend it.’

‘I’m also getting better at mindfulness and just generally being more in the moment. It’s a process. It helps to laugh too,’ she continued.

Sarah said that something as simple as a ‘stupid meme’ or the ‘ridiculousness of life’ can brighten her day when times are tough.

Sarah had planned a big 40th birthday dinner with her close friends, including former Studio 10 co-host Jess Rowe, in July.

However, her plans were scrapped when Greater Sydney went into stage-four lockdown in early June following a surge in Covid cases.

Despite her setbacks, Sarah said 2021 had been a ‘big lesson in resilience’ and ‘learning to let go and just flow’.

When asked about her plans for the summer, the journalist said a trip to Queensland with her sons, Paul, five, and Harry, three, ‘would be amazing’, Covid permitting.

Sarah also said she remained hopeful for a better 2022, with lockdowns ending and borders reopening.

However, her TV Week interview was done before the emergence of the Omicron strain, which threatens to derail Sydneysiders’ Christmas plans.

‘I’m feeling cautiously optimistic,’ she said. ‘Can I say that? Or will I jinx things?’
