Doctor Anywhere, a Singapore-headquartered digital health platform, has scored SG$88 million ($65.7 million) in a Series C funding round led by growth equity investor Asia Partners.

The round also saw the participation of Novo Holdings, Philips and OSK-SBI Venture Partners, as well as the company’s existing investors such as EDBI, Square Peg, IHH Healthcare, Kamet Capital and Pavilion Capital.

The new funds bring the company’s total capital raised over the past five years to over SG$140 million ($104 million).

WHY IT MATTERS

Doctor Anywhere delivers healthcare services through its mobile platform. It has a network of nearly 2,800 doctors and medical professionals serving over 1.5 million users across Southeast Asia since 2017.

The company is currently present in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines; it has recently established regional tech hubs in Bangalore, India and Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.

In a press statement, Doctor Anywhere said it will use the proceeds from the latest investing round to “further deepen its presence” in existing markets and to enter “new” markets. The funding will also be deployed for the enhancement of its digital capabilities and augmenting its ability to deliver healthcare services.

Following the financing round, Oliver Rippel, co-founder and partner at Asia Partners, and Dr Amit Kakar, head and senior partner at Novo Holdings Equity Asia, will join Doctor Anywhere’s board of directors.

THE LARGER TREND

This latest funding event follows its Series B investing round last year in March where it raised $27 million.

Last year, the company launched its COVID-19 Medical Advisory Clinic which offers video consultation with doctors for its mobile app users in Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. Also that year, it introduced an online mental health video consultation service that allows users to book video therapy sessions with their preferred psychologists and counsellors.

ON THE RECORD

“[Doctor Anywhere’s] mission is to be the largest tech-enabled omnichannel healthcare provider in Southeast Asia, and applying innovative technology to improving patient outcomes is core to our differentiated offerings,” Doctor Anywhere Founder and CEO Lim Wai Mun said.
