Oscar Buzz: Amanda Seyfried’s Gorgeous Lip Color That Hasn’t Hit the Market Yet

0

The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony didn’t have the same level of glitz and glamour we’ve come to expect from Hollywood’s biggest night, but it didn’t stop some of our favorite stars from pulling out all the stops with couture gowns, hair extensions (and unexpected cuts) and bold lip color.

And speaking of lip color, Amanda Seyfried stole the show with her wine-stained pout, which paired perfectly with her red tulle Armani gown, designed by Giorgio Armani himself. The nominee for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Mank, was debuting Lancôme’s brand-new L’Absolu Rouge Drama Ink lip color in the shade 481 Nuit Pourpre (or Purple Night in English).

Though it won’t be available to purchase until next month, we got the scoop on the lipstick from Lancôme, which describes it as a semi-matte liquid that delivers ultra-pigmented, lightweight color that lasts up to eight hours. It also features hyaluronic acid and rose oil in an “ultra-thin film” that coats lips with one swipe but won’t dry them out. To add dimension, Genevieve Herr, Seyfried’s go-to makeup artist, first lined the actress’s lips with Lancôme Le Lip Liner in Rose, and then applied the Rouge Drama Ink, using the patented curved petal applicator for ultimate precision.

A presenter last night, Angela Bassett (another stunner donning a cherry-red gown) also wore the new lip color in multiple shades for an ombré effect, which her makeup artist D’Andre Michael paired with a striking blue smoky eye. Michael used shade 288 for the base, shade 274 French Tea in the middle, and shade 311 Rose Cherie to highlight the center pout.

Rouge Drama Ink will be available in 13 shades, from fiery red to poppy pink, subtle rose and everything in between.
