NRL star Reuben Cotter welcomes his first child with partner Mackenzie Falco

NRL star Reuben Cotter has welcomed a daughter with partner Mackenzie Falco. 

The 23-year-old North Queensland Cowboys star shared the exciting news to Instagram on Sunday evening, alongside two photos of the newborn shortly after her birth. 

Mackenzie introduced their little bundle of joy to the world, writing: ‘Our Sunny girl. We didn’t know how much our hearts needed you, until this moment.’

Mackenzie rounded out the post with the date, ‘11.06.22’, and added a shooting star and white love heart emoji.

In the first image, little Sunny is seen soundly sleeping wrapped in a white blanket beside thread that spelled out her name. 

In the second image, Mackenzie appears to be holding Sunny shortly after giving birth, while the NRL player tenderly kisses her.

A number of footy stars left their congratulations for the pair. 

‘Congrats guys,’ teammate Chad Townsend wrote.

It has been a meteoric rise for Cotter, who started life at the Cowboys as their backup hooker behind premiership winner Jake Granville.

He reinvented himself as a middle forward in the off-season and despite his size, has developed a reputation as one of the best defenders in the competition.

In just 10 appearances this past season he has made 395 tackles at an efficiency rate of 97 per cent.
