Miley Cyrus Debuts Black Streaks in Her Platinum-Blonde Hair — See Photo

You’ve seen two-tone hair on just about every celebrity imaginable these days: Gwen Stefani, Beyoncé, Bella Hadid, the list goes on and on… Miley Cyrus is the latest of them to foray into the dual-sided hair color trend, but as she always does, she put her unmistakably Miley spin on it. The singer appeared in New York City on December 9 for a taping of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon alongside Pete Davidson, and she debuted some new black streaks in her shaggy, platinum-blonde hair.

While other two-tone hair colors are often split down the middle (black on one side and white on the other, for instance), Cyrus’s version is a lot more understated. Instead of dying half of her hair black, she opted to dye what appears to be just one layer of her hair, which is sandwiched between blonde hair on the top and bottom. It’s less Cruella de Vil and more Avril Lavigne in 2005 — which can only be expected of Cyrus and, if you ask me, is a very good thing.

You can catch a glimpse of those black streaks in the photo of Cyrus’s arrival above, but if you want a more dynamic look, you can click here to watch her musical performance of “It Should Have Been Me” (a Gladys Knight & The Pips cover) on Fallon. If not for the hair, watch it to see Cyrus lightheartedly embarrass the absolute hell out of Davidson with a very, er, intense serenade (trust me, it’s worth it just for that).
