Makeup by Mario Rosy Glam Glam Eyeshadow QuadMakeup by Mario Rosy Glam Glam Eyeshadow Quad ($25.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a new, limited edition quad that includes three shimmery eyeshadows and one matte eyeshadow. Unlike the brand’s prior palette releases (more buildable), the quads are described as being “highly pigmented,” and this quad lived up to that claim. They eyeshadows were pigmented, blendable, easy to work with, and long-wearing!
Rosy Glam #1
Rosy Glam #1 is a very bright, pinky-beige with strong, warm undertones and a metallic finish that also had very faint micro-sparkle. It had semi-opaque pigmentation applied dry, which was buildable, and opaque coverage when applied with a fingertip or a dampened brush.
The texture was smooth, lightly creamy and more silicone-like in feel. There was a smidgen of fallout when I worked with it dry but not continuously during wear. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before creasing faintly.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have “high-impact shine” that can be used “dry or wet to achieve a light wash or full-coverage color.” If you’re someone who wants really intense pigmentation with a dry brush, not all shades will be capable of that, though several in the formula were very pigmented both dry as well as wet.
The consistency was almost spongy, a bit emollient but did not seem overly prone to compacting in the pan, which can be an issue with more emollient formulas. It was denser but thin and wasn’t stiff to work with. The eyeshadows applied evenly to bare skin, blended out well in most instances, and went on very easily–they were easier to apply than I think the feel of them would have indicated.
The slip in the formula gave them a smoother, more “melted” look when applied to my skin, so they had shine but did not emphasize my skin texture. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading/creasing faintly.

Rosy Glam #2
Rosy Glam #2 has a warmer, reddish-plum base with very strong, bluish-violet to purple shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. The shimmer contrasted against the base a lot, but even more so at certain angles as it was also duochromatic, which made it harder to dupe with a single shade.
It was richly pigmented with a smooth, moderately dense consistency that wasn’t too firmly pressed into the pan nor was it thick when applied to the lid. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Rosy Glam #3 is a muted, medium-dark plum with subtle, warm red undertones and a pearly sheen. It had opaque pigmentation applied dry as well as with a dampened brush, though the sheen was slightly more pronounced with a dampened application. The texture was smooth, lightly emollient, and easy to pick up with a brush and blend out. It wore well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of wear.

Rosy Glam #4
Rosy Glam #4 is a light brown with subtle, warm undertones and a mostly matte finish. It seemed more prone to taking on the natural finish of one’s skin, so I felt like it looked more satin-like when applied to my eyelids as opposed to my arm.
It had opaque color coverage in a single pass, though it appeared lighter in practice than it did in the pan. The texture was soft, smooth, and a touch thin–not quite as silky as the brand’s original matte formula. It stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview
–
The formula is supposed to have “medium buildable and blendable coverage”with a “featherlight creamy feel.” The formula is marked by a translucency to them that was, in fact, more medium to semi-opaque and buildable in coverage. They were soft, smooth, and velvety with glide but little powderiness, and they seemed to “melt” a bit when applied to bare skin.
I’d argue that they were a little more pigmented in one layer than true medium, but in practice, it seemed slightly more true-to-medium in coverage as the shades diffused evenly and spread to more medium coverage (even when initially seemingly semi-opaque). They lasted between seven and eight hours on me before fading visibly.
