MAC Cosmetics’s Whitney Houston Collection Is the Perfect Ode to the Late Singer — See Photos

Whitney Houston‘s impact on the world of music is undeniable, and while the first thing you think of when you hear Whitney’s name is probably that voice, the musician was also a beauty icon in her own right. The voluminous “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” bouncy blonde curls, the wavy bobs, the red lipstick, and the ’90s diva eyes … I mean, come on! 

Now you can channel your inner Houston even if you don’t have the same powerhouse vocal chops (and who among us could ever?). MAC Cosmetics is releasing a limited-edition makeup line with products and shades inspired by Houston’s signature glam; the brand worked with her estate to ensure each product was true to Houston’s beauty preferences. “Whitney was always a champion of women feeling beautiful, whether it was a major event or just for everyday wear,” Pat Houston, executor of the Estate of Whitney E. Houston, shared in a press release about the collaboration. “Our work with MAC is about creating a line that can meet all of those needs. The line will be true to the eye and lip colors that she loved to work with.” MAC has worked with many celebrity estates before, most notably on two Selena-inspired collections.

The collection includes 11 products housed in metallic gold packaging, all designed to pay homage to Whitney and her decades of beauty influence. Most of the products include the name “Nippy,” Whitney’s childhood nickname.
